Transformation of the Renault Design Centre, Guyancourt (78)

Inaugurated in 1996, the Renault Technocentre in Guyancourt now accommodates a staff of around 12,000 people, making it the biggest research and development centre in France. The R*Generation project rethinks the work spaces for the entire design division. Our first premise is that today’s workspace can no longer just be an “environment”, but must also be seen as a work tool in itself. Our dual focus is on the notions of active confidentiality and co-visibility, while cultivating an almost domestic atmosphere – creating opportunities for privacy and spaces suitable for refocusing. Concepts of comfort, pleasure and sharing help stimulate research and creativity.
