In the ZAC Montjoie regeneration zone, this “bare-bones” office development is designed for maximum compactness. The building stretches diagonally across the plot, facing away from its neighbours. This layout frees up a pair of large, in-ground gardens, offering a tree-lined frontage to the street. One of the two runs alongside a bioclimatic gallery-space, for use in a catering function; the other will be more frequented, as a “performance space”; the landscaping makes it a window-display for the entrance hall.
The entire project is designed around a wooden framework, providing great flexibility for how the floor space is divided. The wood, left visible inside, adds environmentally responsible construction to the assertive identity of this innovative commercial building.
