Pinard Super-Equipment Competition, Saint Vincent de Paul, Paris (14th)

The ChartierDalix team won the competition launched by Paris & Métropole aménagement, for the rehabilitation of the Pinard building as a shared public facility (crèche, school, gymnasium and activity).

The transformation of the old maternity ward into a “super facility” for the neighborhood is an opportunity to rethink this place so that it bears witness to its history, to develop a new project that allows for a diversity of user and links to the memories of the site where Parisians were born and cared for.

We seek to encourage the collective by the versatility of the spaces and their flexibility of use on all time scales. Outside of school hours, the school library is made available to the community, the playground, the courtyard and the refectory are open to the public and almost the entire ground floor can be used to accommodate an open-air cinema or a book fair.

Team: Chartier Dalix Architect Architect, Atelier Roberta (landscape architect), EVP (structure), B52 (fluids), BMF (economy), ZEFCO (environment), LASA Paris (acoustics), Atelier d’écologie urbaine, R-USE (reuse).
