Care Home, Bacouel-sur-Selle (80)
In the village of Bacouel-sur- Selle, the château underwent a major refurbishment to welcome 17 residents, with an extension added for vertical access. The major constraints of this project for older persons with mental disabilities required a particular approach to internal movement. Short walkways conceived in the style of grand greenhouses, with landings to pause on, are an incitement to movement for the residents. The glass structure becomes a sort of indoor street, where everyone at every level remains in constant contact with light and landscape.
